CAMHS staff Don Kilts for Tommy

166

In April 2024, three-year-old Tommy Quinn was diagnosed with stage 4, High-Risk Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. His diagnosis marked the beginning of an incredibly difficult journey for Tommy and his family.

Since the diagnosis, Tommy has undergone eight rounds of intensive chemotherapy, a stem cell harvest, tumour resection, and two stem cell transplants.  In January 2025, Tommy began a gruelling course of 12 rounds of radiotherapy which will be followed by six months of immunotherapy.

To support Tommy and his family, around 23 CAMHS staff members are taking part in this year’s Kiltwalk in April 2025, including Tommy’s mother Nicole, who is a former colleague of many of those taking part. The money raised from the Kiltwalk will go directly toward improving Tommy’s quality of life and helping his family during this incredibly difficult time.
