Colleagues from the Forth Valley ICU team laced up their walking boots and took on an incredible challenge, completing the 23-mile Glasgow Kiltwalk Mighty Stride in support of Brain Tumour Research.

The team walked together in memory of Dr Neil Stewart, raising awareness and funds for a cause that remains close to many hearts across NHS Forth Valley.
Reflecting on the challenge, Helen Tyler said: “Last year, we lost the most wonderful friend and colleague to glioblastoma. There are so few options for treatment of these devastating tumours and new breakthroughs are desperately needed. We walk in Neil’s memory and with the hope that funds raised will change the odds for those facing this cruel disease in the future.”
Following on from their efforts at last year’s Kiltwalk, the ‘Turbonators’ returned to take part again this year in honour of Claire McCormack, a much-loved senior staff nurse at Forth Valley Royal Hospital who sadly died in June 2025 after contracting sepsis. Many of Claire’s family and friends took part and to date, their efforts have raised almost £9,000 for Sepsis Research FEAT.
A huge well done to everyone involved for their dedication, resilience and commitment to supporting such important causes.
