A Scotland rugby jersey signed by the squad who beat Wales 14-10 at Llanelli in October 2020 is to be framed and auctioned off to raise funds for NHS Forth Valley. It is part of a set of rugby jersey’s donated to staff in Scottish hospitals who the team describe as the ‘true heroes’ of coronavirus, continuing to provide care and dedication throughout the pandemic.
The number 5 jersey is worn by Cambuslang star Jonny Gray, who helped Scotland secure the victory over Wales which allowed them to finish the 2020 Guinness Six Nations Championship with three successive wins.
NHS Forth Valley’s Chief Executive, Cathie Cowan, said: “This was Scotland’s first Six Nations win in Wales for l8 years and I am sure it brought a smile to the faces of many Scots fans during a very difficult time.
“The victory demonstrates that good teamwork brings positive results, just like in the NHS and I’m delighted that the signed jersey will be used to raise money which will benefit local patients and staff.”
