Thanks to a magnificent fund raising effort by the Discharge Lounge team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, more than £1000 has been raised for Blood Bikes Scotland.
Together with donations from far and wide, the team arranged a raffle with eight wonderful prizes, including a large food and drinks hamper.
Blood Bikes Scotland provides a free transport service to the Scottish NHS and is run by volunteers in their own time.
They deliver small urgent items which need to be moved from one site to another or to a patient’s home, and support both primary and secondary care including GPs, district nurses, care homes and community hospitals.
The Discharge Team say they are so grateful to the volunteers that they wanted to give something back to the service which is provided in all weathers, always with a smile and in a professional, friendly and trusting manner.
They also wish to thank everyone who helped out with raffle donations and buying and selling tickets.
