Health Promotion Officer Ann McArthur enjoyed a ‘royal’ farewell as she retired after 19 years in the Health Promotion service.
Ann began her NHS career in 1979 and worked in various locations before joining NHS Forth Valley in 1998. She moved to the Health Promotion Department in 2002 with an education remit and then became a Health Promotion Officer in the Substance team.
This proved a great passion for Ann and she supported the development of a recovery strategy and the work of the Forth Valley Alcohol and Drug Partnership. This included the development and promotion of campaign to raise awareness of Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). She has also delivered workplace training sessions on how to identify and respond to alcohol and drug use and reduce associated stigma.
Ann has been a valued colleague who was always willing to give a helping hand and will be missed by her health promotion colleagues.
