Kind-hearted friends presented a cheque for £300 to the Neurology Department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, part of the proceeds of an online auction in memory of fellow Freemason Lindsay Wannan, who lost his battle with a Parkinson’s related illness last year.
Charlie McVicar, a member of Lodge Carron 139 in Stenhousemuir, received two gifts from colleagues which went under the hammer.
The first was an official Scotland Rugby Union top to commemorate their game against France in December 2020 which was signed by all the squad on that day.
This received a top bid of £300. The second was a magnificent bottle of Royal Salute 21-year-old Signature Blend whiskey was sold for £200.
They decided to donate £300 to the Neurology Department and the remainder to Burnbrae Day Care Home in Falkirk where Lindsay enjoyed many a Monday.
