Hazel Somerville, Gender-Based Violence & Sexual Assault Service Lead, was among the first group of nurses in Scotland to train in advanced forensic practice.
She said: “I had a lovely day graduating at Queen Margaret University with eleven amazing colleagues from across Scotland.
“As we are now all qualified in advanced forensic practice, the proposal is that all twelve of us could collectively carry out a test of change project on behalf of the Sexual Assault Response Coordination Service Policy Unit, the Crown Office and the Lord Advocate.
This means I will have the opportunity to continue working with my amazing nurse colleagues and be supported by the east regional forensic physicians, as I was throughout my training.”
