Regular readers of Staff News will recall in our last issue an invitation to help “yarn bomb” trees outside Stirling Health and Care Village with knitted Christmas baubles.
This challenge followed the first “yarn bombing” appeal for knitted poppies to mark Remembrance Day in November 2022 and the organisers have just revealed that more than 1,10o were produced. People took part, either as a formal community group, a bunch of friends, a group of staff or as an individual contributor and the aim was to build positive mental wellbeing through meeting other people, gaining new skills and being creative.
Local patients, staff and visitors were very impressed by the displays.

The next project is likely to be knitted/crocheted hearts for Valentine’s Day.
