This lovely extract from The Passing Hour, the magazine published by the former Stirling District Asylum, illustrates quite beautifully how much the spirit of Christmas matters to those who are in hospital, or in residential care over the Christmas period.
Sadly, as the date suggests, this world would be turned on its head only 6 months later with the outbreak of the First World War.
