A group who run the weekly Snowdrop community café in Polmont have handed in a donation of £400 to buy Zaky hugs for our neonatal unit.
Zaky hugs are soft weighted comforters which come in a pair; and can be kept close to mum to take her scent and then placed in the incubator to provide touch, weight, warmth and comfort to the baby.
Set up to help people feeling isolated and lonely, the café initially served tea and biscuits and has now expanded to include hot soup and home baking.
Food is free and money, which is distributed to local charities, is collected in donation boxes.
