The Patient Safety Conversation Visit programme started the year on a positive note with a return visit to our Community Alcohol and Drugs Service (CADS) based at Falkirk Community Hospital.
Having visited initially in July 2022, the visiting team: Janie McCusker (Chair of NHS Forth Valley)- Forth Valley Health Board), Gillian Morton (Director CPMO/ Women and Children’s Services and Director of Midwifery) and Lynda Bennie (Head of Clinical Governance) were looking forward to their follow up visit after 6 months to see how the service had progressed with some of the work discussed at the initial visit. This included the installation of an electronic alarm system to support the safety and wellbeing of both staff and patients.
On the return visit, the team had the chance to chat to several members of staff who shared their ideas and suggestions for further improvements to help ensure patients feel safe and supported. The ongoing enthusiasm and motivation of staff to provide a safe, high-quality service to local patients in their care really shone through and the visit once again demonstrated that how invested staff are, not only in the care they deliver, but also in each other as colleagues.
Thanks to the clinical team for accommodating the visit and sharing the fantastic work they do for people in our local communities.
