More than 100 supporters and staff from community groups and charities joined local staff at a moving Remembrance Day ceremony which was held as part of a Big Tea party held at Stirling Health and Care Village.
Wreaths were laid at the Bellfield Centre, following a two-minute silence for those who died in armed conflicts, with a piped tribute led by veterans of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. More than 3700 poppies were created bringing a blaze of colour across the site.
Staff from NHS Forth Valley and Clackmannanshire and Stirling HSCP were joined with representatives from Forth Valley Men’s Shed, the Royal Voluntary Service, Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme, the Conservation Volunteers, Volunteering Matters and the Royal Horticultural Society.
Re-engage engagement team members Esther Lynn, Helen Shortall and Kelly Christopher attended to ensure things ran smoothly and to build relationships.
Esther said: “It was a very moving occasion but also great that so many groups could come together in a collaborative way. We made some amazing contacts who we hope to work with in the future.
“The Men’s Shed and the Royal Horticultural Society have both said they would like to get involved with the tea parties, so all in all it was a huge success. It really was a fantastic event.”
