AHP Dementia Specialist Says Goodbye

It’s goodbye from Kate Stoker, AHP Coordinator for older adult mental health services, who recently retired after 34 years with NHS Forth Valley.

Kate began working as an Occupational Therapist in the former Falkirk and District Royal Infirmary and then moved to Bellsdyke Hospital. Six years later she transferred to Falkirk Community Hospital as a team leader.

Kate developed strong links with the Dementia Services Development Centre, going onto to do her Masters in Dementia Studies. She also joined colleagues to write and present the Practice Educators course for Glasgow Caledonian University which she undertook for several years.

In addition, her wide experience enabled her to work closely with former colleague Lynn Waddell, helping with the design of Bo’ness Community Hospital and teaching about sensory impairment and function.
