Aimee Keith, Desktop Support

Describe a typical day

As a dedicated member of NHS Forth Valley’s IT Support team, my day varies between fixing things, breaking things and then fixing them again! I will often be spotted roaming the corridors with my blue hair, a bit like Batman if he’d been to the hairdresser! I like to think of myself as somewhat of a caped crusader, I am on a crusade to resolve IT tickets!

How did you arrive in your current post?

I started work here as a modern apprentice when I was 17 years old. My dad dropped me off for my first day and I’ve never looked back, believe it or not he’s actually called Robin! I’ve since worked my way up the department and have been in my current role in Desktop Support for around two years.

What do you think is your best quality?

My ability to fight crime (preventing users from breaking label printers).

What personality trait do you most deplore in yourself?

I am a shopaholic and buy things I do not need, sometimes I sell them but most of the time I just let them collect dust. I once bought an iPhone, FitBit and a blender on the same day – it wasn’t the best of smoothies lol!

What is your most treasured possession?

My cat, he is so cute and always comforts me during hard times – with his tail. My cat is called Dexter and I treat him like my son. He is black and white with a moustache and is very handsome. I got him when I was going through a tough time so he is very special to me although he picks and chooses when he wants to love me.

Favourite fashion item?

My cape (NHS Forth Valley fleece)

The last great book you read and enjoyed – and why?

I’m not a big reader but the last book I read was “How to Lose a Guy in 10 days” and I loved it!

Your desert island essential?

My phone and a solar charger!

What is your pet hate?

My cat hates Whiskas, he can only eat Felix but my pet hate is when people eat too loudly, especially my cat.

The song that gets you on the dance floor?

Nananananana…

What’s the top of your bucket list?

I’d love to travel and see more of the world and different cultures. So many places I would love to visit, the list is endless…

Best decision you have ever made?

Applying for my modern apprenticeship, who knows where I would be if I hadn’t.
