Angela Fairley, who has worked with older adults in Forth Valley for over 32 years, recently retired from her role as a Health Care Support Worker only to return a few weeks later to start a new chapter in her career with our local Macmillan nursing team.

Angela started her career in Bellsdyke Hospital in August 1991 as a full time Nursing Assistant, before moving to work at the former Bannockburn Hospital. She later moved to work at the former Stirling Royal Infirmary before taking up a role at the Mental Health Unit at Forth Valley Royal Hospital when the hospital opened.

After a spell at Bo’ness Community Hospital, Angela became a Health Care Support Worker with the Dementia Outreach Team in 2017.

Although Angela will be sadly missed, not only by her colleagues in older people’s services, but also by her patients and carers, in true Angela style she felt she had more to give. So after taking only 15 days off, Angela returned to work with the Macmillan nursing team.
