After a career in which she she has delivered hundreds of babies midwife Johan Stirling has retired.
Although she has worked in the health service for the past 42 years, Johan has spent the last 22 years with NHS Forth Valley as a midwife. Described by colleagues as a passionate and hardworking midwife, dedicated to providing safe, evidence-based care for both women in hospital and at their homes, she has even travelled as far as Nepal in conjunction with the Royal College of Midwives helping to educate others and experience healthcare internationally.
Closer to home she works with the National Childbirth Trust providing childbirth education to women and families and remains as enthusiastic as ever. Johan will be greatly missed not only by her colleagues in Stirling but also those in Falkirk and Forth Valley Royal Hospital. Patients have been sad to hear of her retiring but so glad of all her care over the years.
