A local family with close links to NHS Forth Valley has helped raise more than £9000 for Strathcarron Hospice.
The Brisbane family has set themselves a £14,000 target for Strathcarron Hospice in honour of Alan Brisbane, a Learning Disabilities Healthcare Support Worker who worked with NHS Forth Valley for over 30 years.
Daughter Jennifer Brisbane, a Corporate Services Assistant made and baked a variety of Christmas goodies to sell, and with the help of mum Dianne Brisbane, a Senior ICU Nurse, made a whopping £450 at a recent Christmas fayre.
Jennifer told us: “Dad worked in Loch View for many years and was known to many as a true gentleman who always thought of others first. In honour of his caring nature, we decided to set the target of raising £14,315 to fund a day of Strathcarron’s services, following the Hospice at Home support my dad received in his final month.”
Alongside running raffles, selling items and undertaking step challenges, daughters Jennifer and Rhianne abseiled 100ft down the Falkirk Wheel in his beloved floral shirts!
