Caroline Blackhall, who works in the sterilisation unit in Falkirk (ASDU), has become one of the first sterile services staff in Scotland to gain a degree in decontamination sciences. Caroline achieved a distinction and completed the degree on a distance learning basis with Anglia Ruskin University, whilst continuing her full time role in the unit as Quality, Training and Process Improvement Manager.

She joined ASDU in 2002 and has held her current post for the past three years after completing the Institute Decontamination Sciences (IDSc) technical certificate.

Unit Manager, Michelle Holburn, described Caroline’s success as “a brilliant achievement.”
