The Haematology and Blood Transfusion Laboratory, including Specimen Reception, at Forth Valley Royal Hospital has achieved UKAS Accreditation for the very first time.
This significant milestone reflects the exceptional hard work, professionalism, and dedication of the entire team. Achieving accreditation required a substantial strengthening of quality systems, rigorous review of processes, and consistent demonstration of excellence across every stage of the testing pathway.
UKAS Accreditation provides strong assurance to clinical colleagues, partners, and, most importantly, patients that the service delivers accurate, reliable, and high-quality results. It confirms that the department now fully meets the requirements of ISO 15189:2022, the international standard for quality and competence in medical laboratories.
This achievement marks an important new chapter for Haematology and Blood Transfusion at FVRH and highlights the team’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and patient-centred care.
