The Forth Valley Paediatric Diabetes team received a cheque from Margaret Fish and her daughter Carolyn, on behalf of the late Ann Hanney.
Margaret and Carolyn described Ann as an extraordinary woman who managed her diabetes for fifty-nine years and cherished her fifty-year Alan Nabarro medal from Diabetes UK. Ann dedicated over two decades to volunteering at Claremont Primary School in Alloa, a commitment that began as a one-week stint.
Throughout her life, Ann always had a dog as a companion, including one particular dog who persistently pawed at her when her blood sugar levels were dangerously low to alert her to the potential danger.
