Endoscopy Get Muddy for Cancer Research

Four members of the Endoscopy team engaged in a bout of mudslinging when they took part in the Race for Life Pretty Mudder. A gentler form of Tough Mudder, they scrambled across a 5k obstacle course with lots of mud throwing. Those taking part were staff nurses Jaqueline Torley, Mhari Allen, Victoria Martin and Kim Walker-Pengally, raising more than £420 for Cancer Research UK.

Senior Charge Nurse, Michelle Gilbertson, said: “We were so behind them all and I am immensely proud of the team for being able to do this.”

Staff nurse Victoria Martin added: “We crossed the finishing line as a team; those who were not so fit and capable were supported by others. I was very surprised how much mud washed off in the bathroom!”

The team took part as they had all been affected by cancer on a personal basis and they also wanted to show support for a colleague going through treatment for cancer at the moment.
