When it comes to lending a helping hand, NHS Forth Valley’s Estates Department has generosity in spades.
They dug in with others to transform Wimpy Park in Alloa as part of a Beechgrove Garden community garden makeover project. The one-hour special featuring their efforts is expected to be aired on BBC1 in late October 2021.
Recording their thanks to the NHS Forth Valley Team the Wimpy Park Community Group wrote: “Thanks so much for playing a part in the success of the 5 day makeover of our park and we could have not done it without you. We smashed our crowdfunder target of £5000, secured grants and raised funds locally. Members of the community volunteered their time, provided food, refreshments and homebaking to ensure the dream came true.
“The creation of the ampitheatre, sensory garden, paths and enhancement of community orchards, sports pitches and raised beds has provided a wonderful social space for everyone to enjoy. Our next steps are to continue to develop the space, install toilets and create an adventure play park for the kids.”
