Coaching provides space for reflection and a rare opportunity to focus on you. It is a far more optimistic way of engaging with a person than most of us are accustomed to. It encourages us to suspend limiting beliefs about people, including ourselves, abandon old habits and liberate ourselves from redundant ways of thinking.
It can make a real difference if you are looking for the next career move or trying to understand why you are having difficulties working with specific members of your team. Any member of staff can apply for coaching and you will be matched with a coach who will meet with you and have a discussion about whether coaching is the right thing for you and if it is, will arrange to meet with you again, usually for an hour at a time for up to six sessions.
More information on how to apply for coaching can be found on the organisational development page on the staff intranet https://staffnet.fv.scot.nhs.uk/a-z/organisational-development/coaching/
