Within minutes of maternity services transferring from Stirling Royal Infirmary, Claire Wright from Stenhousemuir was admitted to the new purpose-built labour suite on Tuesday 12th July 2011 where she later gave birth at 2.53pm to a baby daughter Erin Grant.
To celebrate the move to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, the first babies to arrive were presented with special gifts. Staff handed over a cuddly toy rabbit, a certificate of congratulations and a cotton top inscribed with the words ‘Forth Valley Royal First’.
