Colleagues joined to wish a fond farewell to Sister Carla Tait who recently retired after a nursing career of more than 30 years.
Carla started her nurse training at the former Callendar Park College in Falkirk in 1986 before taking up her first post in Ward A11 at the former Falkirk and District Royal Infirmary. She the moved to Ward 16 before going on to work as a Sister in Ward 2 and Charge Nurse in Ward 16.
In 2010, Carla relocated to Ward A11 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital where Carla continued to work as a Senior Charge Nurse before becoming Lead Frailty Nurse in 2018. As well as completing the RCN Clinical Leadership programme and working as a clinical facilitator, Carla was an avid member of the Forth Valley Nurses Choir and will be remembered for her appearances in It’s a Knock Out, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show and an Amarillo video for Comic Relief.
Colleagues who worked with Carla during her long nursing career in Falkirk and Larbert paid tribute to her both in person and on social media. Although she will be much missed everyone wishes her a long, happy and much deserved retirement.
