Helping Women THRIVE

A group of women from across the Falkirk area came together recently to celebrate successfully completing NHS Forth Valley’s THRIVE to Keep Well programme.

Eight participants graduated from the 16-week health and wellbeing course, which supports women to make positive changes in their personal and professional lives while building confidence, skills and resilience.

The programme focuses on the strong connection between physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, helping participants overcome challenges, set personal goals and explore new opportunities for volunteering, learning and employment.

Graduates marked their achievement at a special celebration event where they were presented with certificates by Falkirk Council’s Deputy Provost, David Balfour.

Throughout the course, participants took part in a range of workshops designed to build confidence and practical life skills. Sessions covered topics such as managing everyday stress, supporting children’s learning and development, and developing skills which can support future education and employment opportunities.

As part of the programme, participants also gained qualifications and certificates in CPR, Naloxone administration and the Adult Achievement Award Level 3.

Jackie Turnbull, NHS Forth Valley’s THRIVE Coordinator for Falkirk, said:

“The programme recognises the strong links between physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and aims to help participants overcome barriers, set personal goals and gain new skills which can lead to happier, healthier lives.”

Clair Fair, NHS Forth Valley’s Keep Well Service Team Leader, congratulated the graduates and thanked those who helped make the programme a success.

“I would like to warmly congratulate our wonderful graduates and extend sincere thanks to our local volunteers and partners, including Falkirk Council and the many community organisations who support the programme.”

The graduation highlighted the positive impact of the THRIVE programme and the strong partnerships that help support women across Falkirk to improve their wellbeing, develop new skills and build confidence for the future.
