Among the 50,000 people who had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk across the new Queensferry Crossing was Claire Campbell, a domestic assistant at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. Together with her partner John Ainslie, and children Scott and Charlie, they used the occasion to raise money for Strathcarron Hospice.
Their decision to make it a fundraiser was prompted after John approached Strathcarron Hospice who had nominated two staff for places but were unsuccessful. Money is still coming in but the £200 mark has already been passed.
