A local family from Maddiston, recently attended Forth Valley Royal Hospital to make a donation and thank local staff after their father, John Main, underwent emergency surgery earlier in the year. They held a Burns Supper at Lauriston Bowling Club hosted by the Jolly Beggars Burns Club.

Barry Main said: “My dad was admitted into hospital on the Thursday and was operated first thing on the Saturday morning. It all happened so quick, so we didn’t get a chance to prepare for what was happening. The surgeons, doctors, nurses and the tea ladies were all absolutely amazing with my Dad and with all our family.

“The quick actions taken by all involved and the surgeon Mr Geraghty saved my Dad’s life and we wanted to show some kind of appreciation.

“We held a Burns Supper at Laurieston Bowling Club, which was hosted by The Jolly Beggars Burns Club to raise money to donated to all involved at the hospital. The full team involved work tirelessly and were always smiling and helped keep my Dad’s spirits up.

You guys deserve so much more than what we could raise but we wanted to donate this to help with the wellbeing of all involved.”
