Improving Your Wellbeing

501

Staff are our greatest asset and, it is recognised that, in order for local patients to receive the best possible care, the health and wellbeing of local staff needs to be supported.  There’s no denying that the past few years have been very tough and this has affected our health and wellbeing in many different ways.  The growing concerns about the rising cost of living, ongoing capacity pressures, the impact of global climate changes and the war in Ukraine has also led to increased stress and anxiety – as well as greater uncertainty about the future.

Our new Workforce Wellbeing Plan was developed by NHS Forth Valley’s Staff Support and Wellbeing Programme Group in collaboration with a variety of services, departments and individuals across the organisation.  The group meet monthly to discuss a wide range of actions and initiatives designed to support the mental, physical, financial and social wellbeing of local staff.  The Staff Support and Wellbeing Website has also been refreshed and updated with a wide range of resources, information and advice. In response to feedback from staff, we have ensured that the Financial Wellbeing section includes links to practical support and advice including budget and financial calculators, advice on benefits and grants, details of benefits and discounts available to NHS staff and tips to help reduce energy use and costs.

It also includes space to promote social activities across the organisation, from local book clubs to basketball and baking.

The Staff Support and Wellbeing Group want the plan and website to be as helpful and relevant as possible – so please let us know what you would like to see being delivered or developed in the future.  Get in touch via the contact us form on the website or email fv.staffwellbeing@nhs.scot
