Introducing PC Lorna Mills – Our Police Liaison Officer

PC Lorn Mills

Many of you may already recognise PC Lorna Mills, who’s been a familiar and friendly face around Forth Valley Royal Hospital for the past six years. As our dedicated Police Liaison Officer, Lorna plays a vital role in supporting staff, patients and visitors – and no two days are ever the same.

Lorna began her policing career back in 2005 while working in Response Policing in Stirling, where her duties ranged from high profile investigations to… swan patrols! With experience in custody roles, firearms licensing and, as a trained Sexual Offences Liaison Officer, she’s seen all sides of policing, including some of the most challenging.

Her current role at FVRH is just as varied. From assisting with major investigations to helping track down a missing toothbrush (yes, really), Lorna is here to offer practical support and expert guidance on a wide range of issues from court citations to medical statements and general policing advice.

Lorna explained: “Ultimately, I’m here to support staff, patients and my police colleagues. As a working mum, I understand the pressures many of you face. Sometimes, all it takes is a sit down and a chat and I’m always happy to help.”

Although she splits her time between the hospital and the Police Office in Stirling, Lorna is always ready to assist. She also works closely with the Forth Valley Safer Communities Team to offer staff training on topics such as Equality and Diversity, Harm Reduction, Crime Prevention and Counter-Terrorism Planning.
