Merry Fitmas

This string of cards has brought some added sparkle to the seminar room in ICU at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. They were designed by children in P1-P3 at Avonbridge Primary School as part of a Falkirk Active Schools ‘12 days of Fitmas’ challenge. The youngsters wanted to say a special thank you to staff caring for patients throughout the pandemic and to wish them Merry Christmas.

Under the direction of Miss Stewart (sister of NHS Forth Valley Education Co-ordinator ICU, Marianne Stewart) the youngsters were invited to make a special Thank You Fitmas cards to send to someone or a group of people they thought were deserving.

Marianne says after their ‘quarantine’ she strung the cards up to make people smile and appreciate the beautiful and thoughtful gesture the children had made.

The Fitmas cards not only have a Christmas theme but also a fitness theme to remind others that staying active, fit and healthy is good for mental wellbeing.
