A new DXA scanner was installed at the hospital to allow patients from Forth Valley to have their bone health assessed locally.
The scanner is part of NHS Forth Valley’s wider Falls, Fracture Prevention and Bone Health strategy, which identifies falls reduction and bone health in older people as a priority area.
DXA scanners measure a patient’s bone density to help diagnose conditions such as Osteoporosis and identify the most appropriate treatment to reduce the risk of further fractures.
