The Society for Acute Medicine (SAM) hosts the SAM Manchester Conference, a leading event for clinicians working in acute medical care. This year, NHS Forth Valley was proudly represented by a multidisciplinary team who attended to share learning, present improvement work, and engage with national developments shaping the future of acute medicine.

Showcasing NHS Forth Valley’s Work

Pamela Scott & Jenna Woods

Presented a poster on the identification and escalation of the deteriorating patient, delivered as part of the Safety Collaborative. Their work highlighted baseline data, educational interventions, new processes, and the resulting improvements in patient safety.

Cath Swan & Nicola Green

Outlined the role of Clinical Nurse Educators within AMU, emphasising collaborative working with Senior Charge Nurses and the clinical lead. Their presentation demonstrated clear benefits for staff retention, student experience, governance, quality improvement, and workforce development.
