Party Time for the Platinum Jubilee

392

There’s nothing like a party for lifting spirits, and patients, staff and service users in a number or areas across Forth Valley celebrated The Queen’s platinum jubilee in style.

At Lochview there was a long weekend of fun-filled activities which included a jubilee bingo night, a garden party and dress up, best crown competition, karaoke and tree planting within the grounds. The events were so successful that plans are already underway for more celebrations during the coming year.

In addition, a patient celebrated their 60th birthday and this too was marked with a party. The patient’s family provided catering and her brother created a video of her life throughout the years.

Ward 4 at Forth Valley Royal Hospital and Unit 5 at Falkirk Community Hospital also held garden parties to today to The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and Dementia Awareness Week.

A big thank you Sweet Harmony Barbershop Choir, who entertained patients and families at the Falkirk Community Hospital event, and to Serco who arranged for special jubilee cupcakes to be given to inpatients in all our hospitals on the Sunday of the jubilee weekend.
