A group of Forth Valley physiotherapists decided to take up a 5km a day challenge during May 2021 to help raise money for Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids Day.
Cash for Kids aims to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people living in Falkirk, Edinburgh, the Lothians, and Fife. Everything raised in the area stays in the local area, with a focus on alleviating poverty, supporting disability and improving quality of life.
Their efforts to run, walk, jog or skip 5km every day raised a fantastic £591 and you can still donate via the fundraiser page.
At the end of the challenge physiotherapist Kayleigh Steel said it had been a long month and she felt so proud of herself for not giving up.
Kirstie Stenhouse, AHP Manager for Mental Health & Learning Disabilities, said “I’d like to congratulate to all the NHS Forth Valley physiotherapists who clocked up an additional 5k every day in May on top of the steps they take during the working day.
I’d also like to thank everyone who donated and helped us smash our original fundraising target.”
