The Pathology Department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital received outstanding praise for their high quality of service to clinical teams and patients, following a recent inspection by UKAS assessors.
The assessors came on site for two days and audited the quality management system and histology, cytology and mortuary services which have held full accreditation since 2017.
A great deal of hard work was involved in preparing for the visit which involved management and staff of all grades including admin and clinical colleagues. The result was only nine minor findings which needed to be cleared in 4 weeks for full accreditation to be maintained.
The pathology service was also granted full accreditation for four additional antibodies which will be added to the department’s UKAS schedule
