Renal Unit Kiltwalk

Fourteen members of the Renal Unit team laced up their walking boots and took on this year’s Glasgow Kiltwalk – raising an incredible £2,838 for two fantastic causes.

The team completed the gruelling 23-mile Mighty Stride to support Breakthrough T1D and LinkLiving. These charities were chosen for their close connection to the Unit’s work and values:

  • Breakthrough T1D supports world-class research into Type 1 diabetes, a condition the renal team witnesses the impact of daily.
  • LinkLiving is a health and wellbeing charity that supports people of all ages to overcome the negative impacts of trauma, mental health, inequality and isolation.

Although one team member had to withdraw due to health reasons, they still contributed to the fundraising efforts – helping the team far exceed their original £100 target.

The team’s efforts reflect their commitment to supporting not just local patients, but also the wider community, all while proudly representing NHS Forth Valley.

A huge well done to everyone involved for their energy, dedication and fundraising success!
