Director of Finance, Scott Urquhart, is best know for his financial talents and keeping the Health Board on budget despite considerable financial challenges.

However, few are aware of his considerable musical talents as one of Scotland’s leading songwriters and guitarists.

This may all be about to change following his recent collaboration with indie folk group Constant Follower as their new album, Even Days Dissolve, has not only been receiving rave reviews and national airtime, but has also been longlisted for the 2023 Scottish Album of Year.

For Even Days Dissolve, Constant Follower frontman Stephen McAll drew inspiration form the works of acclaimed Scottish poet Norman McCaig. But equally central to the album is Scott’s Urquhart’s virtuosic guitar work which provides an instrumental core, incorporating shades of improvisory blues and meditative folk into the record’s atmospheric arrangements.

Scott Urquhart. Said: “I’m delighted that the album has received so much positive feedback and being longlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year is a fantastic achievement which I never thought would happen.

“I really enjoy playing the guitar and it also helps me to relax and switch off from the pressures of day-to-day life and just immerse myself in the music.”

The Album is supported with three fantastic new videos for tracks, Waves Crash Here, Watching The Black River Run and Space Between Stars.
