Colleagues from across NHS Forth Valley were among those presenting innovative projects and service improvements at the NHS Scotland Event 2026 on 21 September at the University of Strathclyde’s Technology and Innovation Centre.
A number of NHS Forth Valley teams and individuals shared their work through poster presentations, highlighting initiatives designed to improve patient care, enhance services and drive innovation across the organisation.
The posters included:
- Claribel Simmons: Creation of a Respiratory Hospital at Home Ward for Patients with Respiratory Illnesses under Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Scotland
- Prakash Shankar: Transforming Organisational Culture: Establishing a Compassionate, Data-Informed Leadership Framework in NHS Forth Valley
- The Innovation Team and Consultant Dermatologist Colin Morton: Developing the Use of Artificial Intelligence to Accelerate the Detection of Skin Cancer
- Vasim Dhada: Standardising and Digitising Discharge Letters in Paediatric AHP Services
- Urgent & Unscheduled Care showcased four posters: BIG6, Scheduling MIU and Criteria to Reside, with the poster abstract: Optimising Urgent Care Flow: A Quality Improvement Approach for Scottish Ambulance Service Patients with Low-Risk Chest Pain via Consultant Connect selected as a top-scoring submission.
The NHS Scotland Event provides an important opportunity for staff from across the country to share learning, showcase best practice and celebrate the innovation taking place within NHS services.
Congratulations to everyone involved in presenting NHS Forth Valley’s work on the national stage and helping to highlight the wide range of improvements being delivered for patients, service users and staff.
