A number of staff from across the organisation put their best foot forward to complete this year’s Edinburgh Kiltwalk.
Staff from the Quality Improvement and Unscheduled Care joined forces with colleagues from the University of Stirling to participate for World Patient Safety Day.
They completed the 11.4 mile walk and have raised over £550 for Forth Valley Giving – NHS Forth Valley’s official charity which supports local patients and staff.
The team had a few aching joints but said participating in the event was a fantastic experience as the weather was on their side.
Staff from the Stirling Learning Disability Team also participated in this year’s event and, so far, have raised more than £2,600 for the Ronald McDonald House Charity. The charity provides accommodation close to number of hospitals across the UK so that parents can stay close to their children while they undergo treatment. Some of the walkers from the team have used this charity while there children stayed in the former Yorkhill Hospital, The Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh.
In addition, staff from Boness Community Hospital Ward 2, Lyn, Nicole, Kasey, Kelly, Linda and Stephen took part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk, their 4th charity walk this year, and raised £1100 for Stathcarron Hospice.
