Stroke Unit's Tartan Tea Party

Staff in the Stroke Unit recently held a Tartan Tea Party which raised more than £126 for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS)

The theme was chosen to coincide with the unveiling of CHSS’s new tartan which was officially launched by Stroke survivor Fiona Dickens at the Kelpies in Falkirk during Stroke Awareness Month. The bespoke plaid of blue, green, purple and white features a single pink line that represents the 1 in 5 people who live with a chest, heart or stroke condition in Scotland.

Amy McDonald, Stroke Specialist Nurse, said: “We recognise the power a cup of tea can play in someone’s story of stroke.

“Whether it’s a cuppa shared with others who understand what you’re going through at one of the hundreds of supporters popping the kettle on and making their cuppas count at Tartan Tea Parties across the country.

“A simple cup of tea can mean connection, togetherness and raising vital funds for the many people in Scotland affected by chest, heart and stroke conditions.

“Our local Tartan Tea Party was attended by staff from across the Forth Valley Royal Hospital site and I’d like to thank everyone who came along to show their support.”
