The SIREN study, which closed on 31st March 2023, was established early in the pandemic with participants undergoing regular testing for Covid-19.
Analysis of these PCR and blood tests helped the UK to evaluate the immune response to Covid-19, build understanding of the protection offered by vaccines and provide insight into Covid-19 reinfections.
A total of 189 staff from NHS Forth Valley volunteered to participate in the study with some remaining on study for 24 months.
Our Clinical Research Team are hugely thankful to everyone who made this study so successful in NHS Forth Valley and for the time participants gave to complete study tests and questionnaires within their busy schedule.
