Congratulations to five newly qualified school nurses in NHS Forth Valley. Maddie Fergus, Louise Lindsay, Carrie Pearcy, Linda Rickard and Maggie Tyson have all completed the Master’s Level Specialist School Nursing Post Graduate Diploma at the University of the West of Scotland.
The Scottish Government has transformed the role of the school nurse with the introduction of ten priority pathways focusing on vulnerability and risk taking behaviours. Last year they pledged funding for a further 250 school nurses and NHS Forth Valley is invested in this development with a further four school nurse trainees due to qualify in January 2020.
