Update on Manual Handling & Violence and Aggression Training

The Manual Handling Training Team is working extremely hard to support all staff undertake mandatory training by offering either classroom or onsite training. They also have key workers carrying out competence assessments. The Team is required to produce evidence of staff training to the Health & Safety Executive by the 21st December 2020 and would really appreciate the cooperation and support of staff across the organisation to help improve compliance.

To simplify the process the e-learning material for manual handling has been streamlined into one module and staff are asked to complete this online training as soon as possible. All face-to-face training for manual handling will either be ward or classroom based which will carry a 24-month expiry date.

The Violence and Aggression Training Team has also been working extremely hard to accommodate training for all nursing staff within FVRH. They really appreciate the help of all our ward-based trainers and rely on their support during these challenging times. All staff are asked complete relevant e-learning modules for violence and aggression, which can be completed 3 months prior to the expiry date to help ensure your training is fully compliant. All Violence and Aggression face-to-face training will be offered to nursing staff across Forth Valley Royal Hospital and the team would ask staff to attend the courses assigned to them.

All training at present is being booked direct and not through our eESS system. This is to ensure we target the appropriate staffing groups and all training undertaken will be recorded retrospectively.
