Our Ageing & Health Team are currently looking for volunteers to help support patients at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
If you, or someone you know, could spare a few hours to help encourage, motivate and support local patients to get involved in meaningful activities and conversation then please get in touch with Sandra Dixon by emailing sandra.dixon@nhs.scot or calling 01324 566270.
Our colleagues at Blood Bikes Scotland are also looking for volunteers to support their vital work. The charity provides a free service to NHS Scotland, transferring blood, plasma, tissue samples and other vital supplies between hospitals, saving around £250,000 per year.
They are currently looking for volunteer call handlers who act as the first point of contact for the service, taking details from the NHS and liaising with Blood Bike Scotland’s riders and drivers.
Many call handlers are not riders or drivers but are individuals who are keen to support the NHS in some practical way by giving up a few hours of their time per month to support the charity. It is also a role that can easily be done from home.
If you are interested, or have a friend or relative who might want to get involved, then visit the Blood Bikes Scotland website and answer a few short questions
